I've really tried to keep up enthusiasm for this theme, but I can't. The current story and setting never found a direction or a decent fanbase, and honestly, I'm tired of trying to find both. Even more to the point, playing Gala as Freya has lost its amusement value. I just want a place where I can play her as herself, which is something I haven't had for some time now.
I'm not sure yet what I will do with the site next. I'm going to be away from my computer a lot the next couple of days, so maybe something will come to me then. I definitely plan to have more of a structured story, since leaving things as open as I have been and trusting people to guide themselves clearly doesn't work.
Although I will leave one last speck of hope for the current theme; if any members still care enough for it to want to adopt adminship of the site, contact me and we'll talk about it. I might even be willing to stick around as a normal player, in that case. *shrugs* I have another board I haven't been using, so I would still have a place for the new game, whatever it is. Otherwise, I'll recycle this one again.
If anyone has ideas about what you'd like to see for a new game, I'm willing to listen. You know where to get in touch with me.

Thought I should update the topic to note that if my current train of thought holds, my next RPG project will be myu-ish, specifically Eien-ish, because I love the way Beryl was Endy's original fiancee before the moon princess stole him away; it gives her both a sympathetic backstory and a damned good reason to hate Serenity. Also, it makes Serenity less innocent in the whole thing, which is always good. Of course, being my game, it won't be straightforward myu-- gotta twist things here and there to suit my own vision, of course ^^ . I definitely need Gala to have a bigger part and take a more active role in the story. Maybe I'll bring back her "Kisaki" alter-ego, whom I've played in several games before. . . only, more evil, I think. . . totally wanna evil it up this time ^_^ . Oh yeah, and despite being myu-based, there will be no singing and dancing, as I don't feel that works out well in RP.
So yeah, that's my brainstorm of the moment. Questions/comments/suggestions know where to find me. Otherwise, stay tuned for further details as my brainstorm develops.

I'm still working on this, just being slow about it due to other commitments. My current train of thought is the debate over whether fan-Senshi would be allowed in the new RP. On one hand, I've always prided myself in being very open-minded with fan-mades, but on the other hand, I'm not sure I'd want to introduce a bunch of random new charas into what would essentially be a canonical story, so I'm torn. Open to thoughts, as always. More rambling updates as more stuff occurs to me.

Would people still be interested in staying and playing on AS with the Norse theme if board control were handed over to someone else? The offer's been made, so if there is interest, we could probably work that out. If there's no interest, the idea for that will be scrapped.
Either way, I still plan to create the myu-ish board I mentioned before. Right now it's just a matter of whether I do that here or on the other board I have lying around.

I definitely would be interested in staying on with the Norse theme. To be 100% honest, the myu theme doesn't really speak to me, especially if we're following an already existing plot and we can't play fan senshi. Part of the fun of SM games is the expansiveness of the world--if I'm just playing already established characters in an already established location, it seems less fun.

I'm still going back and forth over whether there would be fan-Senshi in the myu-ish game. I definitely wouldn't want to just play out the same story exactly as written, and adding other charas could help keep it from turning into that, but I still would want to be respectful to the source material, so I wouldn't want the fan-Senshi to swoop in and overwhelm the canonical ones. Finding that balance is definitely on my "to-do" list before I roll out the new board.

Well I for one would like to continue with the current storyline. It's interesting and that's actually one of the main reasons I joined. Most SM boards are set on Earth now and this one is really the first one I've seen that has done something different. Like I said in the PM, Seiya and I would be willing to take it over if you wanted to hand it over because you've lost inspiration or whatever. Maybe we should go and drag the others back by their hair? Haha, nah, I don't think that would work very well. . .

I was all ready to let the site be someone else's problem for a while, but apparently I am too loved (?) for that. So it looks like I'll have to try to muddle through as best I can. I can't promise I won't emo about from time to time, or that my enthusiasm for the site will ever get back up to 100%. . . then again it might, who knows? *shrugs* Anyway, I'm going to open up roles of people who have vanished (so if you've gone poof for a while, but still have interest, now would be the time to un-poof! *pokes*), and start advertising again in hopes of getting some warm bodies in. Maybe it'll even work this time? I guess we'll have to try it and see.
